After many years exploring my creativity through oils, acrylics, ink, and charcoal, I put down my canvases and set aside those artistic urges.  For approximately 20 years I allowed my left brain to dominate while focusing on advancement within the corporate world.

Several years ago, a good friend of mine would often show up to group functions among mutual friends with his DSLR, as he was building his photography expertise.  On one such occasion, we were tailgating before the purple splendor of a Prince concert.  Remembering that my buddy was rarely in the photo highlights of past outings, I offered to shoot a few to make sure he was pictured in the mix as well.  I ended up shooting for the next hour or so, looking for ways to frame images which captured the excitement of the day.  Something clicked.  I missed having that creative outlet for all those years and photography was scratching that itch.  A few days later after reviewing the images of that day, my friend called me up and briefly said, "You need your own camera", and here we are.

In 2103 I founded Headen Photography with the purpose of being able to help you remember how you felt during those special moments captured within life's highlights.

During this journey to become more skilled and offer the highest quality product, my knowledge of light, background, and expression has also led me to specialization with headshot photography in addition to event photography.  Every photo tells a story... what does your current headshot say about you?
